Via Sean Jones: Mike Tyson grieved Jermall Charlo this week on his Podcast asking him why he didn’t fight Canelo Alvarez and David Benavidez after 14 years in the professional ranks.
Unfortunately, he seems to be resisting Tyson’s advice, rejecting his idea of how to call Canelo, and showing no interest in fighting David Benavidez.
The famous former heavyweight champion Tyson gave Charlo some advice on how to fight Canelo, saying that he “Too friendly” and need to disrespect him to force him to face him.
Tyson said that Jermall (32-0, 22 KOs) needed to talk about Canelo’s family and mother to upset him so much that he would give him a fight because what he was doing wasn’t working.
Charlo recently missed a fight with former First Division four world champion Canelo after the Mexican star turned down PBC’s $100 million + two-fight offer to accept his two-fight deal. Matchroom/DAZN to face Dmitry Bivol and Gennadiy Golovkin this year.
Some believe Canelo has cold feet as the second fight of the two-half deal from PBC involves him facing David Benavidez. Unlike Jermall, Benavidez (25-0, 22 KOs) is 25 years old and looks like the best boxer in the 168-lb class.
“Why don’t you fight Canelo?” Mike Tyson said at HotBoxin in the question about Jermall Charlo. “OFFERisten, you need to start talking about his mother, his family.
“You are too friendly. You have to be like Roberto Duran. ‘Give this to my children, mother f****. Do bell. We signed, b****,” Tyson said about how he wanted Jermall to insult Canelo to pressure him into the fight,’ Tyson told Charlo.
Tyson is right about Jermall needing to talk trash and not show disrespect to Canelo Alvarez to try to fight him.
Let’s face it; What Jermall did tiptoes around Canelo, showing him respect in interviews didn’t work. Placing Canelo made Charlo invisible, out of sight and mind.
Meanwhile, Canelo (57-1-2, 39 KOs) has spent the last few years collecting belts from boxers from the UK, taking turns beating weak names in easily earned belt fights. money.
Canelo’s entire focus is on beating paper champions who have no threat of defeating him. Therefore, he was chosen NO to fight this killer’s series of murders:
- Jermall Charlo
- David Benavidez
- Demetrius Andrade
“That will make him [Canelo] crazy and don’t want to fight me. That’s the difference now,” Jermall Charlo told Tyson.
As you can see, Jermall doesn’t want to say or do anything that he feels will upset Mexican star Canelo, believe it. concessions is the way to get a fight against him.
Appeasement doesn’t work in boxing and doesn’t work in war. Charlo doesn’t know his history. You can’t whisper praises to Canelo and think he’s going to come back and hit you. Put Canelo has never worked from a boxer to fight against him.
“You should fight them now in your best period. You should call them out,” Tyson said of Charlo.
When Charlo gave a feeble excuse for why he WILL call Canelo for the past five or six years, Tyson said, “Then let’s fight the next best, Mexican Monster, Benavidez.
At that point, Jermall gave a weak reply to Tyson that made him laugh at him by saying, “He [Benavidez] nothing to offer. “
When Charlo said that, Mike Tyson looked at him as if he were an alien that had just landed on Earth. Tyson told Jermall that the boxers were “afraid of him [Benavidez.”
The ex-champion didn’t tell Charlo that he’s also one of the fighters scared of Benavidez, but you could assume that’s what he meant because he had just made a half-hearted excuse for why he’s not trying to fight him. After all, he’s “got nothing to offer.”
That excuse by Jermall would hold water if he’d been fighting quality middleweights in the last five years instead of the weak bunch that he’s been padding his record with since 2017.
Charlo is scheduled to fight Maciej Sulecki in his next fight on June 18th. WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade recently beat that guy by a one-sided 12 round unanimous decision.
