India veteran Mohammed Shami put on a bowling alley in the first and only warm-up match of the T20 World Cup 2022 warm-up match against Australia on Monday. India captain Rohit Sharma served Shami in the 20th minute of the game as the Aussies required 11 runs from 6 balls to win the competition. Shami produced one of the most memorable performances of his career in the shortest form as he took three more clear runs, helping India win with six runs.
The challenge of defending 10 runs in the final is a big one for Shami, who only arrived in Australia a few days ago and was added to the Indian team as a replacement for Jasipino Bumrah.
Shami did not play for India in two practice games before meeting Western Australia and was immediately tasked with defending the first 10 runs since arriving Down Under.
Here’s how it all went:
Ball 1: Yorker from Shami and Pat Cummins Get 2 runs by guiding the yorker to the left of the mid-club area.
Ball 2:Another yorker from Shami and Cummins this time sent the ball to the midfield, 2 more runs.
Ball 3: ENTER!Cummins was captured by Virat kohli creator of a one-handed stun machine.
Ball 4: ENTER!Ashton Agar exhausted.
Ball 5: ENTER!Yorker was in place when Shami broke up Josh Inglis‘root.
Ball 6: ENTER!Another perfect yorker and Shami is Kane Richardson.
Mohammed Shami has surpassed 20th in the world. Just outstanding in his accuracy with his bowling, great signs for India ahead of the group stage matches.
