The new Manchester United manager has been instructed to replace the summer signing Jadon Sancho because he’s ‘not fast enough’.

Sancho only arrived at Old Trafford in the transfer window last summer, after a long time being hunted by the Red Devils. United paid over £70m to bring in the winger Premier LeagueAfter a series of impressive seasons at Borussia Dortmund.

But it was not the first campaign the England international had hoped for because the. Sancho has scored just five goals and three assists in all competitions for United, in a campaign feared for Premier League giants.

They were eliminated from the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Champions Leagueas well as potentially missing out on a spot in the top 4. Their poor performance has seen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired in November, with a new manager to be appointed this summer.

And former England international Trevor Sinclair has urged whoever gets the job to move Sancho after just one season at Old Trafford. Sinclair also believes United should get rid of Paul Pogba, Cristiano RonaldoRaphael Varane and David de Gea if they want to turn their fortunes around.

“It doesn’t matter what the manager comes for Manchester United next if they don’t get the eggs in the right row and put those in the position they need. Football director, philosophy, recruitment, management, and in that order,” Sinclair told talkSPORT.

PLEASE SAY YOURS! Should Manchester United be looking for a replacement for Jadon Sancho? Comment below.

“[Otherwise] they will end up with an inappropriate number of players. You look aside – you’ve got [Paul] Pogba is ready to leave. Sancho appeared as a winger – unable to beat a player, not fast enough.

“You’ve got Varane, for me the jury is still out on him. You’ve got Ronaldo, can’t press, so why did you put him in the football club in the first place? I said last summer he will score a lot of goals but will Manchester United succeed?

“I don’t think so. Because I don’t think that’s what they need. Even De Gea, if you’re going to start in the back line, start with De Gea. He’s not good enough with his feet. You want to play across the lines and play the modern football that all the top teams are playing, De Gea isn’t good enough with his feet.”

The man expected to make those decisions about Sancho, Pogba, Varane and De Gea appears to be Erik ten Hag. Based on ESPNUnited have decided to see the Ajax boss as their preferred candidate, interviewing him last month.

Ten Hag has impressed the Dutch giants since taking over five years ago, leading them to two Eredivise championships and the KNVB Cup. He is said to be ready to leave the Johan Cruyff Arena, as United chose him as the man to bring success to Old Trafford.
