And now Julie Bishop has joined forces with Ellie Aitken, a heartbroken friend in society.
The couple were photographed together at a lavish event held on behalf of the Sydney Dance Company over the weekend.

In a post shared by the popular social media site, the couple were seen dressed to the age of nine while Ms Bishop, 66, put her arm around Ms Aitken’s shoulders.
Ms Aitken, 42, dazzled in a black long-sleeve mini dress, featuring black heels and a stunning jeweled necklace.
‘What a great night supporting the @sydneydanceco phenomenon,’ Ms Aitken captioned the photo.
For her part, Ms Bishop also shared intimate moments from the event.
The former Australian foreign minister posted a number of red carpet snaps, looking elegant in a gray dress and pearl drop earrings.

The couple’s arrival comes after Ms Aitken found herself at the center of a high-profile split in December after her husband of 20 years had an affair with her best friend.
Fund manager Charlie Aitken, 48, announced that he had separated from Ms Aitken and moved in with her younger friend Hollie Nasser.
The move sent shockwaves across their tight-knit eastern suburbs, especially since Ms Nasser, 36, is also married to Christopher Nasser, Aitken’s business partner.

Ms Aitken then shared a text message she received from Ms Nasser on Instagram in which her former friend accused her of ‘playing the victim’ and blamed her for ‘ruining the marriage’ his own person’.
