LONDON: Cannot win ODI World Cup would be her “only regret” in a two-decade career, if not, says India’s fast bowler Jhulan Goswami on the eve of her final international match on Saturday.
Goswami will retire after his third ODI game against England at the iconic Lord on Saturday.
An emotional Goswami said she is grateful the game has brought her name and popularity but a second best finish in the 2005 and 2017 World Cup 50+ editions will remain an unmarked box.
“I played two World Cup finals but couldn’t win the title. That’s still my only regret because you guys have been preparing for the World Cup for four years. There’s been a lot of hard work. For every cricketer, it’s a dream- True moment to win the World Cup,” the 39-year-old right-hand man said on the eve of her final international match.

“When I started, I never thought I would play for such a long time. It was a great experience. I am so lucky to be able to play this sport. Honestly, come from a very humble background. From a humble background and a small town like Chakdah (in Nadia district, West Bengal) I know nothing about women. baseball” said the legend.
Goswami said receiving the Indian hat was the most memorable moment of her ticketing journey.
“My best memory is when I was on the Indian team and went bowling for the first time because I never imagined (that I would play for India) every day to train.”
She recalls the 1997 Women’s World Cup final between Australia and New Zealand at Edenhas nearly 90,000 followers, has fueled her ambitions.
“In 1997, I was a girl playing football at Eden Gardens, where I watched my first Women’s World Cup final. From that day on, my dream was to represent India,” she said.
