Ola tram will launch in Nepal, by the end of the year


As part of the plan to export electric motorcycles, Ola Electric has officially announced its entry into the neighboring country’s market. The EV maker also plans to export the S1 and S1 Pro EVs to LATAM, ASEAN and EU countries.

Ola Palace officially announced its accession to Nepal today. The Chennai-based electric vehicle maker is now affiliated with electric two-wheeler manufacturers based in India, who also export their products in other countries. Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO at Ola Electric, made the announcement today. He said that Ola Electric will launch soon S1 and the S1 Pro electric scooter in neighboring country, Nepal was the first country to get the Ola scooter after the EV maker launched both EVs last August.

Speaking on Twitter, Aggarwal said, “India has fallen in love with the Ola S1 scooters, ushering in our EV revolution. Now we are bringing it global! Announced our entry into Nepal today. By the end of 2022, Nepalese consumers will join the revolution.” Aggarwal added that Ola Electric also has ambitions to export its electric motorcycles to other countries of Latin America (LATAM), the Association of Nations Southeast Asia (ASEAN) and the European Union (EU).

Ola Electric is one of the fastest growing electric two-wheeler manufacturing companies in India and is among the top 5 for most parts of its one-year journey so far. It launched the electric scooter S1 and S1 Pro on August 15 of last year. Recently, Ola Electric also launched an updated version of the S1 scooter. The electric vehicle maker recently announced plans to set up a battery factory in India. It also announced plans to launch its first electric car soon.

Ola Electric is also likely to make announcements regarding its Hyperchager network in the coming weeks. Ola previously revealed plans to build its own EV infrastructure through fast charging stations. The EV maker started setting up these chargers for its electric motorcycles last December. These EV chargers claim to recharge electric motorcycles up to 50% in just 80 minutes. Ola said it plans to install around 4,000 turbochargers across India by the end of the year.

Ola Electric has also begun to set up physical showrooms for the first time since its inception. In addition to the online shopping facility, the electric vehicle maker plans to build about 200 experience centers across the country by March next year. 20 such experience centers have been opened.
