Penn Badgleyby Joe Goldberg has shared his romantic obsession, from Elizabeth lailby Guinevere ARRIVE Victoria PedrettiQuinn’s Love. But when the new episode of Friend season 4 premieres on Netflix this week, his character—now alias “Jonathan Moore”—will be less hot and heavier with the women on his site.
It was at Badgley’s own request, he recently revealed in a bonus episode his podcasts Podcrush. “I ask Sera gamblingcreator, ‘Can I not do intimate scenes anymore?’” former Gossip Girl actor explained. “This is really a decision I made before joining the show. [in 2018]. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it publicly, but one of the main things is, do I want to go back to a career path where I’ve always been a romantic lead?”
Another factor in Badgley’s decision was his five-year marriage to Domino Kirkewith whom he shares a son, James. He continued: “Loyalty, in every relationship, and especially my marriage, is important to me. “And it got to the point where I didn’t want to do it.” Badgley said Gamble “didn’t even pay attention” to his request. “She was happy that I was being so honest. She had a really positive response. They’re back with a phenomenal drop.”
However, Badgley understands that reducing Joe’s sex drive “from 100 to zero” would be unnecessary. In this part, the character runs away from his suburban life in California to start a fresh start in London, where he is working as a writing professor and becomes close with a group of people. Rich British society is being terrorized by a mysterious killer. And—surprise, surprise—Joe’s desire finally worked. Badgley concluded: “I signed this contract, I signed up for this program, I know what I did. “You can’t take this aspect out of the DNA of the concept.”
