Pokémon is to catch them all, and in Pokémon Go that means catching every variant, including rare shiny versions of Pokémon. Every Tuesday in Pokémon Go, players will see a specific Pokémon spawn more often during Spotlight Time, which runs from 6pm to 6:59pm local time. Spotlight Hour is your chance to buy candy, a chance for high-CP Pokémon, and if you’re lucky, a shiny Pokémon.
On December 28th, Cubeoo, Pokémon Chill, will be noticed and the player will earn double Catch Candy in the meantime.
And yes, Cubeo can be shiny in Pokémon Go.
How to evolve Cubeo in Pokémon Go
To evolve a Cubeo into a Beartic requires 50 Cubeo candies. However, the version of Cubeo that appeared during December Spotlight is a Pokémon with a costume – the small holiday ribbon on its head that prevents it from evolving into Beartic.
Will shiny rate be increased during Featured Hour?
Shiny rate does not appear to be increased during Spotlight Hour, based on data collected by the Pokémon community Silph Road. However, the sheer number of Pokémon spawned in the hour-long weekly event will give you a better chance of clicking a random ball. The more Pokémon you click, the more chances you have to catch a Shiny Pokémon.
What can I do to attract more shiny Pokémon?
Not much, I’m afraid. It seems to be a random chance. Shiny Pokémon catch rates are set by developer Niantic, and they’re usually only increased during special events like Community Day or Safari Zones, or during Legendary Raid. There are no consumables that increase the odds of shiny Pokémon.
Where can I find a list of available shiny Pokémon?
