Quake ruptures gas pipelines in Türkiye (VIDEOS) — RT World News

State energy company BOTAS confirmed a strong earthquake on Monday morning caused damage to natural gas pipelines in Türkiye. Videos that went viral online showed huge columns of fire spewing into the air.
According to Turkish officials, the 7.4 magnitude earthquake killed many people and caused significant damage.
BOTAS cut supply after the earthquake, but a crack in Kilis province is being fed by gas inside the pipeline, it said.
Videos allegedly taken at the scene show huge columns of fire rising into the sky in at least two locations.

The quake struck around 4 a.m. local time in central Türkiye. Vice President Fuat Oktay reported that it killed more than 280 people and destroyed at least 1,710 buildings in the provinces of Kahramanmaras, Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, Adana, Adiyaman, Malatya, Osmaniye, Hatay and Kilis.
