Red hot row will burn in WA Magic Millions Classic

Supporters can expect Red Hot Goods for a strong recovery and correction when he lines up during Saturday’s Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic (1200m) in Pinjarra.

Coach Neville Parnham is confident that Red Hot Goods can reassert his place among the two-year-old’s top trees this season after a less-than-inspired attempt at debut.

Expectations were high and high was expected from Choisir colt after three excellent test wins, but he ran below his best as he placed sixth behind She’s Greysful.

Parnham said they were the main reasons for Red Hot Goods’ unsatisfactory first attempt, and he advises punters to rule a row and eliminate runaways altogether.

Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong.

“It was a bit of a failure in the whole race,” Parnham told Taradio.

“It took five or seven minutes to get the horses into the fence and some of the horses were very difficult to load.

“It was a hot day and things were not going well for the babies and my horse was almost the last.

“Brad (Parnham) said he just lost before the race and was really excited.

“There is a possibility that he could also choke, he was strong in the middle part of the race.

“He’s really suffering and definitely not his A-game.

“That is not his ability and he is a good horse.

“I made some changes over the weekend and he’s been working since a little Norton and a tongue tie.

“That will be his gear on Saturday and he looks like he will do well in it.

“I expect to see him run a lot better on Saturday.”

Red Hot Goods is $12 with Tabtouch. He’s behind She’s Greysful $4, Street Parade $4.20, Sheeza Belter $4.60 and All The King’s Men $6.50.

Despite the first defeat, Parnham still rates Red Hot Goods very highly.

“I think he’s almost as good as any two-year-old who’s ever tried a job,” Parnham said.

“Obviously making it race day, but from his challenges, I don’t think there are too many people who are better than him.

“What he showed me at home, he was a pretty smart horse.

“He will be very competitive on Saturday.”

Red Hot Goods pulled the ninth barrier and will be ridden by Brad Parnham.
