While presenting the award for Best Actor in a Serial Drama in 2023, Kevin won for his role in gold stone, the 52-year-old actress slightly deviated from the script. She begins “Kevin Costner, he so badly wants to be -” before laughing to herself. She continued:
“I always liked the way they wrote this. It’s like, ‘He really wants to be – .’ No, I’m sure he did. But because — it was raining — unprecedented weather and flooding, he had to shelter in place in Santa Barbara. Oh my God!”
She scoffed adding:
“He’s stuck in Santa Barbara, everyone please pray.”

Finally, she calmed down and expressed more seriously:
“No, that was terrible. This is the truth. Everyone, we do, we pray and we hope that those affected by these storms stay safe and I will accept that award on your behalf right there, Kevin.”
A few hours earlier, the 67-year-old actor arrived Instagram shared, “no one is sadder” than he and his wife when they had to miss the prestigious award ceremony due to the high flood. We have to say, the beautiful ocean view and palm trees in the background of his announcement video could have made Regina’s taunts a little easier to swallow…
The Man of Steel star added:
“Yesterday, we had to take the kids out of school, and in Santa Barbara for the second time in five years.”
While his wife, Christine Baumgartner, not getting to wear the “beautiful dress” she chose, the star revealed she bought “several yellow, gold and black and silver balloons” so they could watch at home. He concluded:
“I sincerely apologize to the Golden Globes and the international press. I hope we are invited back. Thanks.”
