In an announcement, BCCI confirmed Rohit’s absence from the Second Test and also hinted that Sanii would also be absent. “Rohit Sharma is being cared for by the BCCI Medical Team following a left thumb injury he sustained during his 2nd ODI match against Bangladesh in Dhaka,” BCCI said in a statement.
“The medical team considers that the injury needs more time to fully recover before the Indian captain can hit the ball and hit the field with maximum intensity. He will continue his rehabilitation and will not appeared in the second and final Test against Bangladesh.
“Navdeep Saini was also excluded from the Second Test due to abdominal strain. The fast pitcher will now report to the NCA to further manage his injury,” the statement added.
Earlier on Monday, reports of Rohit’s absence surfaced, suggesting that the India captain had yet to fully heal the thumb injury he sustained during the 2nd ODI of the series. Although Rohit came out to knock the order down in that game, it was he who confirmed that the injury did not look good.

India, having beaten Bangladesh comprehensively in the First Test, will also win the Second Test and complete the victory with a score of 2-0.
