  • Shortly after 2 a.m., the Kyiv city government issued a warning on its Telegram channel urging residents go to the shelter, when the air raid sirens sounded. Olekskiy Kuleba, governor of the Kyiv region, said a “drone strike” was underway.
  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a video address on Thursday night, said air commanders in central, southern, eastern and western Ukraine repelled 54 missiles and 11 drones Russian driver. Officials earlier said more than 120 missiles were fired in Thursday’s attack.
  • More than 18 residential buildings and 10 critical infrastructure were destroyed in the latest attacks, the Defense Department said in a statement. A wave of Russian air strikes in recent months targeting energy infrastructure has left millions without electricity and heat in frequently freezing temperatures.
  • The Belarusian Defense Ministry said its air defense system was shoot down Ukraine’s S-300 missile in a field, in one of the largest Russian missile attacks on Ukraine since the start of the war.


  • US President Joe Biden signed a $1.66 trillion spending bill that includes emergency assistance to Ukraine and US allies.
  • Belarus summoned Ukraine’s ambassador to its foreign office to protest against the S-300 missile it claimed to have shot down.
  • Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said there were no concrete signs that Russia wanted peace in Ukraine, and called on international support to continue to support Kiev.
  • Zelenskyy told the country’s parliament to unite and praised Ukrainians for helping the West “rediscover itself”.
  • Kremlin Palace removed object Zelenskyy’s 10-point peace plan reiterates that proposals to end the conflict must accept Russia’s annexation of four regions of Ukraine: Luhansk and Donetsk to the east, Kherson and Zaporizhia to the south.
  • The UK says it has supplied Ukraine with more than 1,000 metal detectors and 100 bomb-disarming kits to help clear minefields in the case of the country’s latest military support in its conflict with Russia.
