Chacon has over two decades of experience in corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability in a variety of industries globally. For 10 years, from 2010 to February 2021, she was vice president, social and environmental at Patagonia, Inc.
In this role, she led an international team of experts in strategic planning and implementation of Patagonia’s global human rights and environmental sustainability efforts, including climate commitments, access to origin of raw materials and suppliers as well as reports. She also holds a number of directorship and advisory roles with sustainability nonprofits related to the apparel industry.
Prior to that, she was the global director, training and education at STR Responsible Sourcing, a sustainability consulting firm now known as UL-Responsible Sourcing. In this position, she led a global team dedicated to developing and implementing corporate responsibility programs and training across a variety of industries.
