Sebastian Fundora Open To Errol Spence Fight At 154

Via Huck Allen: Sebastian ‘The Towering Inferno’ Fundora says he’s ready to take on Errol Spence Jr at 154 whenever he chooses to gain weight.

WBC Fundora interim middleweight champion (20-0-1, 13 KOs) awaits the possibility of a final world title against the undisputed 154 lb champion Jermell Charlo.

It’s the fight he wants, but in the meantime, Fundora 6’5″ won’t deny the clash with Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) if he reaches 154.

Spence could gain weight next year if he can’t hit the undisputed 147 lb Terence Crawford he’s been trying to hit recently.

If Spence continues in welterweight, he will have to face the winner of the Eimantas Stanionis vs. Vergil Ortiz Jr, as well as Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, his mandatory IBF.

Those aren’t easy moves for Spence, but if he chooses not to go in that direction, Fundora will be waiting for him at 154.

Fundora recently defeated ex-victim Spence Carlos Ocampo by a unanimous decision in a harder-than-expected 12 innings on October 8 to reclaim his interim WBC 154lb title.

During Fundora’s fight before, he stopped Erickson ‘The Hammer’ Lubin in the ninth round last April to win the interim WBC belt.

“I am ready to go back to camp and ready for the next battle,” said Sebastian Fundora fight TV center. “Whoever wants to go to 154, take it.

“Want to level up? I’m at 154; Come fight me,” Fundora said when asked if he wanted to fight Errol Spence. “We still want to fight the champion [Jermell] Charlo, but we’ll take whatever is best after that.

“Chris said we were going to fight in April, but obviously, we would fight sooner than that. We’ll see when we get the date. We will let you know. We are ready for the next big thing.

“I think I’m at the top with the champion right there. I fought a lot of good opponents. We still have a lot to go, but I think we’re at the top. We have to prove ourselves with another battle with the Charlo warand then there will be nothing else to prove after that.

“It was a strong performance. He kept up with the whole fight. In the end we’ll see if we get through each other,” Fundora ‘The Towering Inferno’ said of undefeated middleweight challenger Charles Conwell, who struggled to make a 10-round majority decision last month. before Juan Carlos Abreu on November 26.
