As for the intricate choreography seen in the trailer, Liu said that dancing came naturally to him due to his background in hip-hop. While studying at the University of Western Ontario in Canada, Liu was a member of the school’s hip-hop dance team, the Western Hip-Hop. He and his team even finished fourth in the provincial hip-hop competition.
“One of my first conversations with Greta, I said to her, ‘Well, I don’t want to brag, but I was on the college hip-hop dance team.’ And she literally screams. So I feel like that played a very important role in getting me this project,” the Marvel star said. “But it was fun to bring out that part of me, because I felt like after I started out as an accountant and then as an actor, I almost forgot that I loved dancing. This movie is definitely an opportunity to reconnect with that part of me, so I’m happy.”
