Smriti Irani | Ajay Rai: FIR lodged against UP Congress leader Ajay Rai for remarks against Union minister Smriti Irani | Varanasi News

VARANASI: A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against Uttar Pradesh Parliament leader Ajay Rai Rai for his remarks against Union minister of women and child development Iranian.
The FIR against Rai was filed under sections 354(a), 501 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in Sonbhadra district according to a complaint filed by the district chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) women’s wing (BJP) Pushpa. Singh on Tuesday.
Rai, who was at Bharat Jodo Yatra in Sonbhadra district on Monday, said that she (Irani) only went to her Amethi constituency to show ‘latke-jhatke’ (show off).
Meanwhile, the National Commission on Women (NCW) also sent a notice asking Rai to appear in court on December 28.
However, standing by his remarks, Rai on Tuesday said that he did not use any non-parliamentary language.
“Why should I apologize? I have not used any non-parliamentary language. Latke-jhatke is our ‘bolchal ki bhasha’ (colloquial), which means someone suddenly appears and says something and then disappears,” Rai said while speaking to reporters in Chandauli district. , and added that he didn’t want to offend anyone.
“Latka Jhatka is not a word without parliament. Some people are trying to put unnecessarily pressure. I don’t mean to offend anyone with the word Latka-Jhatka, I have always respected women and will do the same,” Rai said, adding that Rahul Gandhi would be in dispute with Amethi again.
“The people of Amethi confused the word ‘latke-jhatke’, so they chose someone other than Rahul, but now the people of Amethi want Rahul,” he said.

“We have the spirit of fighting, not running away,” Rai said, adding that he would challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi in 2024.
“Prime Minister Modi did not do any such work in Varanasi so that the public will elect him in 2024. My vote share has increased significantly in the last election so imagine what what will happen in 2024”.
Meanwhile, the NCW was aware of Rai’s misleading remarks towards the union minister.
The Commission has also scheduled a hearing on the matter and has sent notice to Ajay Rai for an earlier appearance on December 28 at 12 noon.
On Monday, Rai said that most of the factories in Amethi were on the verge of closing. Half of the factories in the Jagdishpur industrial zone are closed.
Rai said: “Smriti Irani just came, showed ‘latka-jhatka’ and left.
His statement provoked a harsh reaction from Irani.

On Twitter, Irani accused Congress of belittling women and targeted Rahul Gandhi, whom she defeated in Amethi in the last parliamentary elections. Gandhi is currently an MP from Wayanad in Kerala.

She said: “You and Mummy ji need to get your misogynists a new speechwriter.
She also mocked the former speaker of the National Assembly for losing to Amethi at home and seeking election from another seat.
Addressing Rahul Gandhi in his tweet, Irani said he had had a regional leader “indecent” announce that he was in dispute with Amethi.
“So should I be sure that you will dispute with Amethi? Won’t you run away? Won’t you be afraid?” she speaks in Hindi.
