The French savoir-faire will be in the spotlight in the capital in March, through a unique collaboration between La Monnaie de Paris, Dior and Sotheby’s. This rare collaboration comes in the form of a two-kilogram gold coin minted into a single piece bearing the effigy of one of the world’s most coveted fragrances, Miss Dior, the first fragrance ever created. by Christian Dior.
Crafted by Joaquin Jimenez, general engraver of Monnaie de Paris, this particular coin features the Miss Dior fragrance, adorned with a series of details, increasingly meticulous, starting with the pattern. The iconic houndstooth, one of the symbols of luxury homes, the dagger button and the rose. In a joint statement, the three houses said it was the first two-kilogram gold one-off coin and it was being put up for auction.
Go under the hammer at Sotheby’s On March 2, the auction will benefit the Fleurs d’Exception du Pays de Grasse association, whose mission is to preserve, enhance and promote the floral products of the world’s perfume capital, and supporting young farmers and imparting knowledge.
The coin will be on display to the public from February 21 to 28, 2022, and then auctioned on March 2. It is estimated to sell for between 200,000 and 300,000 euros.
