Splatoon 3’s Li’l Judd could be the villain

Splatoon 3 imagine an alternate world where ocean creatures, instead of mammals, take over the land. The game is Set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity was wiped out and sentient ocean life took place. The series’ signature character, Inkling, can take the form of both a child and a squid. However, there are a few exceptions to the theme of the game, including Li’l Judd, a cat that helps referee your matches. But now, a dark shadow of speculation has been cast over the adorable badminton ball due to new information revealed in Splatoon 3.

Although the Splatoon series is primarily known for being a competitive online shooter, the developers manage to pack rich lore of daily competitions. They do this by having a pretty strong single player campaign with a story, and by giving players the chance to explore collectibles, such as scrolls, that reveal more about the game’s world. This is where Li’l Judd comes in.

Li’l Judd is a cat character introduced in Splatoon 2. He has a reputation for decoration and is famous for being bitter when he comes in second to Judd. In Splatoon 3, you can collect a Sunken Scroll that appears to show the process of Li’l Judd being cloned from Judd. The two look exactly the same, having cute bow-tie colors as textures on their fur. The only difference is that Li’l Judd’s hair is a bit less clean, his eyes are a bit bigger and he is smaller than Judd. Both referee your competitive matches in Splatoon. And, we have reason to believe that Li’l Judd is evil.

[Ed. note: This post contains spoilers for the final boss of the single-player campaign of Splatoon 3.]

After defeating .’s single player campaign Splatoon 3, Li’l Judd’s character model undergoes a suspicious change. After you beat the game, he starts wearing headphones. And this little detail could be the key to finding out his hidden nefarious intentions.

In the Splatoon universe, players can participate in a game mode called Salmon Run, where the player takes on a shady temporary job for a company called Grizzco Industries to gather a valuable resource. value called Power Eggs. As you play, you are guided by an anonymous voice over the headset. At the end of Splatoon 3 we get to meet Grizzco’s boss, a giant grizzly bear named Mr. Grizz, who wants revenge and regenerates the land with mammals. Turns out he’s the big bad guy of this game. If you complete the campaign successfully, our intrepid hero thwarts his plan and we see Mr. Grizz explode.

All signs point to a complete annihilation of the big boss. However, Grizzco Industries is still around and out after you beat the solo campaign. Which leads to a question: Who’s running Grizzco and talking to you over a headset? Now fans think it’s Li’l Judd because he wears headphones after you beat Mr. Grizz.

It all makes sense considering Li’l Judd’s overall demeanor. In the world of games, it is a well known fact that Li’l Judd does not like Judd. And Nintendo even confirmed that Li’l Judd has a complicated “seniority” with Judd, because he’s just a copy of the real deal. In addition, in Splatoon 3, the opposing team always represents you as “The Bad Guys” and Li’l Judd always represents them. Also, he is a mammal, so it is understandable that he may harbor some malice towards marine life, as does Mr.

However, there are a few twists in the case against Li’l Judd. Mainly, the voice that we hear in the headphones is definitely Grizz’s. We hear him late in the game and it’s the same in Salmon Run, and the garbled voice in the headset doesn’t change the post-solo campaign. So maybe it’s just a small inconsistency between the story and the match mode. But we might just have to wait for a new Splatoon game or DLC to see if this particular plot line gets further ironed out.
