And while characters from across the Star Wars universe – such as Rebel Alliance leader Mon Mo Henri (Genevieve O’Reilly) – will appear throughout. Andor, showrunner Tony Gilroy tells IGN that he’s more interested in telling a good story than responding to fan requests.
Gilroy explained: “We don’t want to do anything fan-oriented. “We never wanted anything… the obligation from the start was that it be as completely unquestioning as possible, that the show would be real and honest.”
After some delays, the 12-episode series will premiere on Disney Plus on September 21. In addition to Luna and O’Reilly, Andor also featured Stellan Skarsgård (Mamma Mia), Adria Arjona (Morbius), and Denis Gough (Colette).
