Thanks to the better PlayStation 5, console sales in the US in November increased significantly. NPD Corporation reported that hardware sales in November jumped 45% to $1.3 billion in November.
NPD said this increase in sales was mainly due to “significant increase in PS5 numbers” compared to November 2021. PS5 was the best-selling console platform in November 2022 in terms of unit sales. and dollars, while the Switch came in at #2 for the month in both metrics.
So far in 2022, the Switch has sold the most consoles, and the PS5 leads in dollar sales overall in part due to its higher price tag compared to the Switch.
NPD Group didn’t say anything about how the Xbox platform will perform in November 2022. The system certainly hit solid numbers as well, given the massive Series S sale for Black Friday that brought the price down to just $250 (or less, depending on where you’re shopping).
PS5, as well as Switch and Xbox Series X consoles | S, it’s become increasingly easier to find at brick-and-mortar stores and online stores lately. These systems are especially hard to find in 2021 and early 2022, but thankfully inventory conditions have improved.
