Suzuki Motorcycle India increased by more than 8% in January 2022

Suzuki Motorcycle India has released its sales activity figures for January 2022. The two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan registered overall sales of 70,092 units last month.

The company sold 60,623 units in the domestic market last month, while exports stood at 9,469 units in January 2022. The company saw more than 8% growth in January 2022 compared to corresponding month one year ago.

Suzuki Motorcycle India is the only major two-wheeler manufacturer in the country to record positive sales growth in the Indian industry. While other brands such as Royal Enfield, Hero MotoCorp as well as Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India all saw sales decline.

Commenting on the performance, Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are pleased to announce that we have successfully registered sales growth of more than 8% in January 2022 compared to January 2021. It is gratifying despite the semiconductor shortage. Globally and the difficulties caused by COVID-19, the company recorded growth in the domestic and export markets. “

Furthermore, the company also said that it has managed to roll out the 6 millionth unit from its manufacturing plant in Gurugram. Also, in January, the company started sending its Avenis scooters to dealers across India.

“Despite the difficulties experienced by the Industry, we are still able to grow 37.1% year-to-date in the current financial year. This increase in sales was made possible with the support of all our customers, dealer partners and employees. With a cautious but optimistic outlook, we are confident that we will continue to receive steady demand both from the domestic and overseas markets in the future In addition, in January 2022, Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the 6 millionth vehicle from its Gurugram factory. This month also sees the start of deliveries for our all-new Scooter, Suzuki Avenis,” the company added.
