Team Fortress 2 will get a big update this summer

Valve announced a major update for Team Fortress 2 this summer. The update will include a lot of cosmetic items, but also new maps and other content.
ONE blog post on Steam describes it as “a full update-size update” that will include items, maps, provocative mode, anomalous effects, war paint, and possibly other content . While the last few summer updates were just item updates, this will be a broader and larger addition to the game.
This blog post is essentially a pre-announcement for Steam Workshop creators working on potential items. The Summer Update doesn’t have any specific themes yet, so creators can upload any theme they love. The post urges Steam Workshop users to submit entries by May 1.
Team Fortress 2 receives regular updates, but lately most of these updates have been maintenance oriented. Seasonal events are still going on as usual and more cosmetics have also been added. While the exact scope and scale of this update is unknown, it will be the biggest update to the game in a while, based on the description. Last year, Team Fortress 2’s bot problem caused a community campaign to fix the game.
