Tesla Model 3 EV becomes 17% more expensive in this country


Tesla has raised the price of its Model 3 EV electric vehicle in Germany by 17%. Last month, Tesla raised the price of its long-range and high-performance Model 3 electric vehicles.

Tesla raised the price of the base Model 3 electric car to 7,000 euros, a 17% increase in Germany. The price of Tesla Model 3 is currently 49,990 euros, equivalent to 41.35 thousand. Last month, Tesla increased the cost of high-performance and long-range equipment for its Model 3 electric vehicle.

This price increase makes Tesla Model 3 The facility to trim a luxury car is now in Germany, which also makes it ineligible for the government’s highest electric car subsidy, pushing up its costs further. The country offers an environmental bonus of 9,000 euros, of which 6,000 euros are contributed by the state and 3,000 euros are provided by manufacturers.

However, it recently introduced a new law that reduces the chargeback to 5,000 euros for any car priced between 40,000 euros and 65,000 euros, with the manufacturer’s contribution up to 2,500 euros. The EV company has not revealed the reason behind the price increase, however, it is suggested that the rising cost of raw materials such as nickel is making the manufacturing process a costly affair.

The Tesla Model 3 is in high demand in Germany, and it’s also the most frequently registered EV model in the country. Earlier this year, it was reported that Tesla had sold 1,41, 429 Model 3 electric vehicles in Europe, making it the only EV to break into the top 50 best-selling models.

Tesla recently reported sales results for the first quarter of 2022, with 3,10,048 electric vehicles. Even so, the company mentioned reduced production numbers due to supply chain disruptions. Tesla has also suspended its operations at its Shanghai factory due to the Covid-19 spike.
