New trailer for live-action Not detected yet The movie hit the screens today and we finally get a good look at Mark Wahlberg sporting his character Sully’s famous mustache, and… it doesn’t look great.
The first half of the new trailer is a rehash from previous trailer, with a new clip of Tom Holland doing Jackie Chan acrobatics with some fancy lights at a flashy art exhibit and arguably doing it better than video games. Nathan Drake can hope to try. Only in the second half of the trailer does it stop recreating Not detected yet video game moments and introduces some of the early concepts, as well as giving us a glimpse of Wahlberg Victor SullivanIconic stomach ache.
Among the new sequences for the film is a scene where pirate ships full of treasure are transported by helicopter as different parties jump back and forth, vying for the spoils. It looks sick as hell, and is in the spirit of Naughty Dog’s signature startling action sequences. But what seems morbid in the more negative sense of the word is the state of Marky Mark’s mustache at the end of the trailer.
In the final moments of the trailer, Drake is sitting at a table trying to broker some deals with what I assume are other treasure hunters. Naturally, the odds of successful parlay seem to be plummeting. Fortunately, Sully appeared from a doorway, armed with an upper lip and a revolver. Instead of being grateful for his surrogate father’s arrival, Drake called Sully precisely because of how grotesque his mustache made him look. puberty yet. Boo this man.
Wahlberg’s mustache doesn’t make him look like much Not detected yeta cigar aficionado but more like a Wish.com version of Tom Selleck in Magnum, PI Consensus among eagle eyes Not detected yet cognoscenti here at Kotaku is that Wahlberg’s mustache-like look will most likely appear in a post-credits scene, as no previous documentary or promotional clip shows him sporting it. Plus, the clip just feel like a kind of thing Not detected yet the film will include a post-credits scene to appeal to pop-out video game fans who sat through the entire movie and its credits wondering why Sully didn’t have a mustache.
If only Wahlberg could collect a crumb catcher with a little more gravitas, like Stephen Lang did in Fan movies 2018. Well, at least there’s still some time to perfect it with CG before release.
Not detected yet hits theaters exclusively on February 18.
