Yamaha has launched its premium scooter NMax 155 in the Chinese market, based on the Indian Aerox 155. While Yamaha Motor India has been successful with the Aerox 155 in the country, they can think of bringing the NMax 155 here. will boost its strength in the 150cc high-end scooter segment which is in high demand from buyers.

The Yamaha NMax 155 is more focused on maxi-scooter design than the Aerox 155. Bringing it here could give the Japanese two-wheeler giant an opportunity to tap into an untapped segment in the country.

Talking about the Yamaha NMax 155, it comes with a muscular look, giving it a strong presence on the road. The scooter has a large front crank with twin LED headlights and an integrated windshield. Regular halogen turn signal light instead of LED. The scooter also sports a stepped seat for a more comfortable riding position. At the back, it has LED taillights.

Features on this scooter include a digital instrument cluster that is fully compatible with the Yamaha MyRide app. In addition, it has Bluetooth connectivity and other features such as email, call and text alerts, and smartphone battery level.

In front of the powertrain, the Yamaha NMax 155 draws its power from the same 155 cc single-cylinder engine that powers the R15 V4.0. This engine is very good when producing a maximum capacity of 15 horsepower and maximum torque of 13.9 Nm. In addition, it also comes with an idle start/stop function.

With a weight of 131 kg, the Yamaha NMax 155 is 4 kg heavier than the Aerox 155. The car comes with a 7.1 liter fuel tank. This means that the NMax has a larger fuel tank than the Aerox, which has a capacity of 5.5 liters. For suspension duties, it gets a telescopic fork, but the rear gets a new preload-adjustable charged monoshock. Braking power comes from 230 mm discs at the front as well as at the rear, combined with dual-channel ABS.

The NMax sits lower with a ground clearance of 125 mm, compared to the Aerox’s 145 mm. Additionally, the scooter rides on smaller 13-inch wheels, compared to the Aerox’s 14-inch.
