One thing you quickly learn about TikTok is that it is extremely trend-following and those trends rise and fall even faster. When I come across a yogurt toast trend On all my gourmet accounts, I’ve been intrigued because I’ve been eating toasted Ezekiel Sesame bread with full-fat Greek yogurt for years. Others do this? I thought. “I feel seen!” Well, not that fast – the TikTok’ers Grilled their yoghurt toast forms a custard topping which, I’m sorry, slightly let me down.
So, in the spirit of keeping up with the TikTok yoghurt toast trend but making it your own, check out my super simple, yet incredibly delicious, Yogurt Toast with Peanut Butter, Banana, and Yogurt. Yes, it’s a recipe without formulabut one thing you might not have thought of – and trust me when I say it has the potential to be a have breakfast or have lunch during your rotation.
Peanut butter toast & banana yogurt. That’s one thing.
First, let’s talk about those peanut butter and banana toppings, or PBB as it’s referred to in our house. Maybe it’s the nostalgia element that does it for me. (One summer when I was 16, I worked as a restaurant hostess and ate a PBBH (honey) sandwich every night when I got home from work. If I wanted to really enjoy it, I made it on the internet. toasted raisin bread). Highly recommended.) All these years later, there’s something about flavor combinations that keeps you satisfied, and today I’d like to add crunch with a handful of granola and a little salt.
How does peanut butter drizzle like that?
To create a creamy consistency, simply scoop a few spoonfuls into a small bowl and microwave for 5-10 seconds. Really, that’s it. The peanut butter is transformed into a smooth “sauce” that flows over your toast and then hardens into a perfect bit of PB in every bite. YUM.
What kind of yogurt?
Repeat after me: Full-fat Greek yogurt. Don’t try this low-fat, fat-free, dairy-free, or Greek-free recipe. You can probably skip a thick yogurt similar to the Icelandic, but anything thin or a little watery will instantly turn your toast to a slurry. I like to drain all the liquid off the top of the yogurt so you have the thickest and densest custard texture possible, perfect for scooping and spreading on toast like frosting.
Any other ideas for yogurt toast toppings?
I thought you would never ask. When you’re creating your own yogurt toast trend, just remember this recipe: yogurt + fruit + sauce + crunch. Here are some of my favorite combinations to add to my toast. I enjoy all of these regularly.

- Yogurt + Strawberry + Almond Butter + Toasted Almonds
