TP-Link’s Tapo robot vacuum cleaner starts at $230

Short TP-Link provocative entered the robotics arena at CES, but today the company announced more details about its first pair of low-cost cleaners. The Tapo RV10 is a $250 vacuum/mop combo, while the Tapo RV10 Lite cuts the mop, doubles the trash can size, and saves you $20.
Both models use gyroscope-based “zigzag path planning” that the company says will clean your floors more effectively than a vacuum that follows a random path. In addition, the machine offers four suction levels (quiet, standard, turbocharged and maximum) with a maximum suction power of 2,000Pa. They also include noise cancellation to keep audio as low as 53dB in quiet mode. Both devices work with the Tapo apps for iOS and Android; Alexa and Google Assistant voice control are also supported.

The RV10 mop sets itself apart from its vacuum-only cousin with a 300ml water tank, an electronic pump, and three levels of water flow. Also, the RV10 only has a 400ml dustbin, presumably to make room for its mopping hardware; The RV10 Lite’s trash can doubles in size to 800ml.
Each vacuum cleaner comes with a 2,600mAh battery, which can clean up to an estimated three hours more per charge. TP-Link says if their battery is running low before it ends, they will automatically dock, recharge, and pick up where they left off.
The vacuum cleaner is available today on Amazon. The Tapo RV10 costs $250, while the Tapo RV10 Lite costs $230.
