Trump lawyers at Washington court for DOJ contempt request hearing

Former President’s Lawyer Donald Trump gathered Friday in federal court in Washington, DC, ahead of a closed-door hearing that is expected to address the Department of Justice hold the office of Trump in contempt of court.
DOJ wants Judge Beryl Howell to belittle Trump’s office for non-compliance grand jury subpoena issued in May requesting any return secret file remains owned or controlled by Trump, according to a person familiar with the matter who spoke to NBC News.
Howell will hold a hearing on the case Friday afternoon, which will not be open to the public. It was sealed because it involved grand jury proceedings.
NBC News is part of a media coalition seeking access to the hearing.
Trump’s attorneys, Evan Corcoran, Jim Trusty and Timothy Parlatore were seen arriving separately and then entering Howell’s room together around the time of the scheduled hearing, NBC reported.
The DOJ is conducting a criminal investigation into Trump for his failure to return government documents when he left the White House, as well as obstruction of justice. one august FBI raid his residence at Club Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, found thousands of such records, more than 100 of which were marked as top secret or top secret.
