Two killed, one missing following avalanche in Lahaul and Spiti | India News

SHIMLA: Two workers were killed and another missing after an avalanche on Shinkula–Darcha Road in Lahaul And Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday night.
Three ordinary workers were buried in the snow along with the snow cutter / bulldozer when the avalanche struck Chika village in the district, officials said.
‘s body Ram Budha from Nepal and Rakesh from Chamba were found while Passang Chhering Lama, 27, of Nepal, remains missing and possibly buried in the snow, according to the state’s emergency operations center.
A rescue team consisting of police, medical staff and members of the district’s disaster management agency quickly arrived at the scene and began a rescue operation.
Rescue operations were halted at night due to reduced temperatures and visibility.
Rescue operations will resume on Monday morning.
