“Shame on me [on] my Walk of Fame night,” Jones is heard telling police on video. “Bookworm. I hate you. I hate you. You are a bookworm. I hate you so much.”

“Speak your name publicly. … You turned me on the Walk of Fame night, just because I was big and black. And what did I do? …. I’m from my Hall of Fame, and I’m black, and I don’t do anything to you. “

One of the arresting officers later said Jones was under the influence of alcohol, and that he began jumping up and down before being controlled by officers.

“Dude, hang me. Hurt me and kill me. What did I do?” Jones said. “Can’t a black man drink? Elected to the Hall of Fame, and this is what I got?”

Jones was then seen head-butting the bonnet of the police car, reportedly leaving “a medium-sized dent as well as chipping away at some of the paintwork on the vehicle”.
