After 12 years together, including two on-screen weddings, Vanderpump’s Rule stars Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney decided to go their separate ways.
On Tuesday night, Schwartz confirmed the sad news in a lengthy statement posted on his Instagram account. “Wow, this sucks,” the reality TV star began. “How can I capture 12 years of love in a damn canned Instagram caption. What image do I have to use? Is there a font that goes to parting? ” He added that he wanted to “clear the air about some of the rumors floating around,” explaining that while he and Maloney are separating, he is “not quite ready to use the word ‘ D’ because it’s too painful. Yes, my heart hurts but I’ll be fine. Not to evoke any sympathy here. I am not a victim. Will not write a song that is too sad. “
Schwartz went on to say that he “completely respects” his estranged wife’s decision to end the marriage and that they have “had healthy, productive conversations about it. It would have been much sadder if she had decided to be with me while unhappy.” He also said that he understood what “tone def” is [sic]“It sounds like asking fans to respect their privacy after nine years of broadcasting all of their relationship drama on reality TV. “So instead, I would ask to do please be kind,” he wrote. “I don’t fault you for any quick judgments. If I had followed us on VPR for the past 9 years, I would have done it for them too. Perception can be lost. It’s deviant to watch bits and pieces of our lives on the show, but I’m telling you we’ve had some of the happiest, most romantic, and fun times humanely possible throughout our relationship. our relationship. I’m talking about heaven-on-earth level joy. She taught me so much about love and being a better life partner.”
The TomTom co-owner also noted that although they are divorced, he does not consider their marriage a failure and that between them “there is no anger or bitterness”. “I don’t think we were ever a model couple. Maybe we are model divorcees. I suppose that’s an unclear title… So I’ll shut up and say it one last time, love you Bub. Always & forever you will be in my heart. Into my ass? Probably not much,” he concluded jokingly, referring to the drunken tattoo he got in her honor.
As for Maloney, she also announced the news on her Instagram account on Tuesday in a much shorter statement, writing, “I never thought I would have to make an announcement like this. But I feel it’s important for me to be open about my life with you. After 12 years of adventuring together, Tom and I are nearing the end of our marriage. This ending has no resentment or hatred, no choice of side. We have a deep admiration for each other that will always live on and we cherish our friendship. Although we may go on different paths, we will continue to love and support each other’s happiness. Thank you all for your kind words and support. ”
