Jockey James McDonald went on to win Group 1 over the weekend winning the G1 Queen’s Silver Jubilee Trophy at Sha Tin on Sunday.
James McDonald teamed up with the Anamoe Champion middle distance runner to win the George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill before making the trip to Hong Kong for horseback riding at Sha Tin.
McDonald sat in the box seat on the Lucky Sweynesse train before earning less money Betting favorite California Spangle in the final stages of the race to win quite comfortably.
Lucky Sweynesse beat California Spangle in second and Wellington in third.
