The tour to Bangladesh has been a disaster for the Indian cricket team so far, having lost the first and second ODIs of the series. Although both matches were tight battles, the travelers ended up losing on both occasions. In the 2nd ODI, India not only lost the match but also lost their captain Rohit Sharma to a thumb injury. With Rohit dropped from the 3rd ODI, it will be even harder to win the final game of the series.
Washington Sundar, who attended the press conference on the eve of the 3rd ODI, the almighty was asked about ‘the situation in India’s dressing room’. While the question is understandably a bit awkward considering the recent results, Sundar handled the query brilliantly.
“Every game is an opportunity to keep getting better, get the right pace and perform well as a team. There won’t be many games, so each game is very important for us. i will play good cricket we will keep improving no matter who we play with our job is to give our best and keep getting better wherever we have to That’s our mindset and we continue to look for ways to improve, wherever that may happen,” said Sundar.
Sundar’s performance in the series is one of the few positives India has had since their arrival in Bangladesh. Sundar says he’s excited about the opportunities he’s given.
“Great opportunity for me in the last game. The World Cup is coming up next year, I want to be a player who can play in any situation, any combination and wherever the team needs me. want to win for the team wherever that asks me to play. I want to contribute my potential to the team, keep doing better and get better in every aspect of the game,” all-round player speak.
After the third ODI is over, the Indian team will shift its focus to the Test series starting on October 14.
