With Lost With replays happening over and over on streaming services, it’s easy to forget the show ended 12 years ago! And not long after the popular series made its final landing, the star Matthew Fox follow.
The Party of the year alum did a few movies after that, especially playing a chopped-up villain in Alex Cross and an anti-hero cowboy in teen horror / Westerns Bone Tomahawk. But then what? He left the business.
In fact, it’s really over seven years since Fox stepped in front of the camera!
He’s finally back in a new show called Last Lightand in a press conference for Peacock , he took a moment to explain his extended hiatus. As for why he chose to take a break from acting, he explained that starring in that West marked an opportunity for him:
“I came up with a list of things I wanted to accomplish in my business and after I did Bone Tomahawk in 2014, completed the group list. I want to do a Western. It’s a very odd West, but it’s a West. And so the group list type is complete. ”
As for why he has been thinking of retirement, he explains that it’s all about focusing on family – before his kids get too old and he misses it all! He called back:
“At that point in my life, our kids were at an age where I felt I needed to really re-engage. I’ve been focusing on work for a while, and [my wife] Margherita has run the family wonderfully, but I feel like it’s time to go home, and I really feel like I’m about to leave the business and work on other creative elements that really bring me back. My personality – some music and writing. ”
So why go back? Well, that’s all about the story of Last Light that intrigued him:
“I’ve just spent seven years living my life with my family and pursuing things that I’m passionate about, but storytelling is in a way my DNA, and I feel like this form of storytelling is what I’m passionate about. I want to reconnect. , and see how it feels. And I’m really happy that I did – that’s good. ”
This time he took on more ownership as an executive producer – something he added to his wish list:
“I got to a point where I thought maybe the team list included executive producers. I have never done that before. Opportunity to participate Last Light to the end, and so I wanted to try. And it feels like the right time. ”
