Will Forte Return To SNL For Its Hosting Launch – Plus More Highlights HERE!

Will Forte has returned Saturday night live stage!

The 51-year-old actor has finally returned to the late-night sketch comedy show to host the show for the first time over the weekend after taking on the role of actor from 2002 to 2010. And he’s got the support. Little help from some familiar faces in the episode – something he Actually Did not want! In the opening monologue, Forte begins by complaining about the fact that he was the last of his former co-stars to be on the show, saying:

“I got into acting 12 years ago with Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, Jason Sudeikis and Fred Armisen. So it was really nice to see Kristen hosting the show. Yes. And Bill. And then there’s Andy. Then Fred. Then Kristen again. Then Bill again. Then Jason. Seth Meyers! I mean, he’s one of my prettiest, isn’t he? But come on. He’s not really a draftsman, he’s just doing the Weekend Update. Does that even count as being on the show? But he hosted the show, right? John Mulaney was a writer when I got into acting. And then he hosted four times. Four times! But hey, that’s okay. I’m not bitter about that. I’m not. Saved the best for last, right? My time to shine. Tonight is all about me.”

And that’s when Kristen Wiig Suddenly crash the party and appear on stage. However, The last man on earth Alum not really excited about the reunion! After Wiig expressed that she was delighted to see him, Forte brushed her off and told her to leave. Roaring! But when she left the stage, showrunner Lorne Michaels then bring up to say that there may have been a scheduling error since Willem Dafoe thought it was his week. Sorry! But the biggest surprise of the evening must have been when Forte brought back MacGruber! As fans know, this character was first created in SNL as an imitation of MacGyver, followed by a movie and then a TV series Peacock. And he came back not once, not twice, but three times last night! The first sketch shows Forte, Wiig and Ryan Phillippe all decorated in masks to try to defuse bombs inside the vault of a bank. However, he was a bit distracted by spreading some disinformation about COVID-19. He stated:

“Now both of you, give me the mask! No time to explain, mask now! ”

When Vicki St. Wiig’s Elmo asked Forte’s MacGruber what he was doing, to which he retorted:

“Free us from tyranny, Vick. Nothing!”

In the second sketch, MacGruber has learned from his mistakes and is now “going with the science” – but this really means listening to conspiracy theories and consuming things like dewormers and hydroxychloroquine. Things escalated when the third sketch showed MacGruber dressed as QAnon Shaman, about how Hollywood celebrities eat babies. Check out the skit to see what happens next (below):

Italian rock band Meneskin serve as musical guests for the upcoming night with their viral cover of Beggin’ via Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons Firstly. Then they took the stage again with an electric performance of I want to be your slave. Ch-ch-check it out (below):
