NEW DELHI: With 2.4 million people enrolled in courses that bring credits, and with more than 26,000 people already earning them, the government runs Swayam . Urging higher education institutions to use the courses, the ministry said that these courses are also eligible for credit transfer upon successful completion of the final supervised test.
The letter also mentions that in addition to the popularity of technical and professional courses, the number of enrollments for courses in the education sector after the pandemic has spiked. “This also reflects the changing pattern of the post-Covid teaching process and the emphasis on ICT-led teaching in NEP,” Joshi said.
The letter also urges universities to accept Swayam credits and provide formal acknowledgment to the University Grants Committee.
