“Wo Hamara Kaptaan Hai Or Rahega”: Shaheen Afridi backs Babar Azam after Britain wipes out Pakistan in pilot series

captain pakistan Babar Azam is facing a lot of backlash after his side were swept 3-0 by the England national cricket team in the recent Test series between the sides. Pakistan lost to England on Tuesday in the third and final Test in Karachi by eight goals, after losing their first two games with 74 runs in Rawalpindi and 26 in Multan. While the Pakistan captain himself has no intention of relinquishing the team’s captaincy despite overseeing the first 3-0 win in the Home Test series, his teammate African Shaheenwho missed the series due to injury, supported him to continue as captain of the team.
“Babar Azam hamari or Pakistani ki Shan, jaan or pehchan hai. Wo Hamara kaptaan hai or rahe ga. Kuch or #sochnabhimanah hai,” Shaheen wrote on Twitter.
“Please support this team. Team Yahi hame jitaye gi bhi. Kahani abhi Khatam nahi howi. #Respect,” he added.

It is also the first time Pakistan has lost four Sprint Tests, after being beaten by Australia in Lahore in March. When asked if he would give up the captaincy to focus on hitting the ball, Azam said in a press conference that he still enjoys the challenge.
“The position of captain is a matter of honor for me. I will do whatever is best for my country and for myself,” he said. “I like it better when under pressure and it doesn’t affect my hitting the ball.”
But Azam admitted his disappointment with the series’ results. Azam, who suffered a sixth defeat in 16 Tests as captain, said: “We cannot apply ourselves in this series.
“I prioritize Pakistan first and the rest after. So my motives and goals are paramount,” he said.
