World of Warcraft Dragonflight Extended Release Window Set for 2022

Next World of Warcraft expansion, Dragonflight, will be released later this year. While we still don’t have an exact release date for the upcoming expansion, which takes place on the long-lost Dragon Island, it looks like it’s coming sooner than some fans expected. Blizzard Entertainment shared the 2022 release date in a news releasealong with information on how to pre-purchase the expansion and its bonus add-ons.

The Dragon Isles takes players back to the Shadowlands and to Azeroth, where they will discover the ancestral homeland of dragons. This includes four new zones, level limit 70, air travel through dragonsand a new type of character in Dracthyr’s race against the Evoker hero class. The expansion also overhauls the game’s talent, career, and display system to encourage more gameplay variety and more ways to advance your character.

DragonflightThe base version of the game includes the expansion pack and Drakks, a mini dragon, and will retail for $49.99. The Heroic Edition ($69.99) includes Drakks, a cute Murloc dragon pet named Murkastrasza, level 60, and the Tangled Dreamweaver flying mount. The Epic Edition ($89.99) includes all of the above, as well as cape and scarf cosmetics, and a 30-day playtime. There is also a boxed collection with an art book, pin, and trackpad for $129.99.

There’s still a lot to learn Dragonflight, including the expansion’s villain and main objectives. For now, we’ll just have to wait for the patch to expand first to give us some more clues.
