You no longer need a PS VR2 invite to pre-order directly from Sony

If you missed your chance to secure a pre-order for a Sony product PlayStation VR2 headphones, you’re in luck. The PlayStation Direct Store No longer requires an invitation to pre-order PS VR2.

You also don’t have to wait months to get your hands on the next-gen PS5 headset, because precipice shown. Once everything is in order, Sony is expected to ship the device between the February 22 launch date and February 28.

The initial wave of pre-orders required PS VR2 owners to register the hobby and hope they get an invite from Sony. You can now pre-order one and at least give yourself the option of getting the headphones in February, especially since it’s unclear how many rows Sony will have at launch. You can always cancel your previous order if you change your mind.

You’ll have to shell out to actually buy a PS VR2. Headphones cost $550 and you’ll need a PS5 to actually use this. Game from the original PS VR not compatible with the latest model, so you’ll need to build a new library of games or hope the developers offer free PS VR2 upgrades. Polyarc just confirmed that it will bring Moss and Moss: Book II to PS VR2, while Sony positions Guerrilla Games’ The horizon calls the mountainone Horizon Without Dawn and Forbidden West VR spin-off, as top launch title.
